Terms & Conditions of Refund

Passengers, with tickets to/from Israel, potentially eligible for airport taxes refund must submit an electronic request, within 102 days from 18/04/2024. The refund request will be in regards to airline tickets purchased for regular flights with AEGEAN commencing 19/12/2011 up until 20/03/2024 and which have not been fully or partially used for any reason whatsoever.

  1. A refund request must be submitted for each airline ticket by providing the ticket number and passenger surname.

  2. The refund application process will be open for 102 days starting 18/04/2024. During these 102 days no request will be processed. Upon the completion of the refund application process 18/04/2024 -30/07/2024 AEGEAN must evaluate, approve, reject and process all submitted requests within 30 days.

  3. Should a refund application not be submitted or should the airline ticket details not be provided within 102 days from the date of the announcement /letter, or should the name of the passenger on the airline ticket be different from the name that is filled into the field, or should it transpire that the airline ticket was indeed actually used the refund will not be approved and credited. The amount of the refund, if any, shall be transferred to a fund for the management of funds that have been awarded as a remedy (in accordance with the Class Actions Law 41876-12-18) in accordance with the court’s decision and you shall no longer be entitled to receive the amount of the refund.

  4. Only taxes paid to AEGEAN will be refunded for the eligible non refundable tickets.
     
  5. As soon as a refund request is submitted successfully, the passenger will receive a confirmation email with a reference number for their request. All requests will be handled separately and in the order of submission.
     
  6. Passengers who have purchased their ticket from a travel agency (online or offline), should contact the travel agency directly regarding their refund, if eligibility is approved, the refunded airport taxes will be transferred to the travel agency for the purpose of the transfer thereof, in their entirety, to the customers.

  7. Travel agents are required to transfer all received airport taxes to their customers, and to submit to AEGEAN confirmation of the transfer of the funds or the crediting to the customer.

  8. The amounts to be transferred to the funds will be in euros and/or New Israeli Shekels according to the representative exchange rate of the euro published by the Bank of Israel at the time of the transfer to the fund and after deducting all commissions/handling fees charged by the banks for transferring the funds to the eligible customers.
