
London Philharmonic Orchestra
London Philharmonic Orchestra, the historic British ensemble that in a few years will celebrate 100 years of uninterrupted presence on the international music scene, will give a unique concert at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall.
The Greek-born American conductor Karina Canellakis, who has emerged as one of the most important conductors of our time and is the first female principal guest conductor of the famous London Philharmonic Orchestra, will conduct Modest Mussorgsky's symphonic works, such as "Dawn in Moscow River" from the opera Hovansina and one of the most imposing symphonies of all time, the Fourth by Johannes Brahms.
London Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by the internationally acclaimed German violin virtuoso Christian Tetzlaff, who will perform Dmitri Shostakovich's explosive and relentlessly adventurous First Concerto.
