Transportation of pet in aircraft cabin

Transportation of pet in aircraft cabin is allowed only if pets are carried in a special case. You are allowed to travel with just one pet, either a dog or cat, which will accompany you in the aircraft cabin and must travel within a special case which it is the passenger’s responsibility to provide. If you wish to transport more than one pet then it is a prerequisite that pets are familiar with each other.

The case must be no larger than 45cm in length, 23cm in height and 35cm in width. The maximum permitted weight for a pet, including the case, is 8 kilos. The pet’s health book must be presented for inspection at check-in. When you are travelling abroad you must also present a pet passport and the animal must have been fitted with the required ID microchip.

Transportation of pet in the cargo compartment

If the dog or cat exceeds the 8 kilo weight limit, then it should only be carried in the cargo compartment of the aircraft, following the respective reservation procedure. It is important to mention that only Boeing and Airbus aircraft may carry animals in the cargo compartment.

Charges:

On domestic flights you will be charged an extra €4 for carrying your pet in the cabin space. For pets carried in the cargo compartment the charge is €4 plus €2 for each kilo over the 8 kilo weight limit.

On international flights each kilo will be charged at 1.5% of the official IATA fare, whether the animal is travelling with you in the cabin or in the cargo hold.

Guide-dogs for the blind or deaf are carried free of charge, but you must notify us that your guide-dog will be accompanying you when you book your flight.
